Sunday School

Our Sunday School, with classes available for ages three to sixteen, runs from mid-September until mid-June during the church service. The children attend church for about 15 minutes then go downstairs for classes following the children's story.

A supervised nursery is available upstairs for children under three as well. There is a sound system hook-up so the supervisor can still hear the church service while attending to the children.

A Sunday School kick-off in September is the annual Sunday School registration and ice cream social following the church service. Watch for the date.

The Sunday School is a growing vibrant entity and having an environment conducive to learning is vital. Providing individual rooms for classroom instruction was one important reason we went ahead with the current expansion.

A couple special events for the Sunday School are the Christmas variety concert and the end-of-year Sunday School picnic alternating each year between a home in the Trinity area and a home in the Goodwood area.

U.C.W.

United Church Women is a group of ladies from St. James who meet once a month from September to June. Our main focus is to take on tasks that reflect the life and work of our church. We usually have two fundraisers, the Prospect Road Craft Crawl and our apple pie sale in the spring. This is always great fun and a good sense of fellowship and we are always happy to enlist the services of other members from the church. Community Service is a very fulfilling aspect that we enjoy taking part in each year. This may change from year to year but our constant service is to the Glades Lodge for our Christmas carol sing along. We invite the women of the congregation to join our merry band. It's a wonderful opportunity to make new friends.
