Roast Beef Supper
Usually held in late February. The meal is made up of roast beef, gravy, mashed potatoes, carrots, peas, rolls and homemade pies to end the meal. It’s a nice break from the cold winter weather.

Trucker’s Breakfast
This was a new idea tried out in June, which provided a hearty meal of bacon, sausages, hash browns, baked beans, scrambled eggs, toast, coffee/tea and juice. The breakfast was well received.

Chicken BBQ and Strawberry Shortcake
This is a very popular annual event held every July during strawberry season. We serve BBQ chicken, baked potato, tossed salad, rolls and strawberry shortcake for dessert.

Spaghetti Supper
A relatively new venture that has proven to be a nice break during the month of August. We provide a spaghetti dinner, garlic bread and make your own sundaes for the finale.

Lobster Supper
This takeout was first tried in December 2004 and was a very successful fundraiser. Meals are preordered and are delivered at no charge to your door or they can be picked up. The meal consists of lobster, potato salad, coleslaw, tossed salad, roll and hot apple crisp for dessert.

Craft and Bake Table
At most of our suppers homemade crafts and baked goods are also available for sale. A new venture this year - gift baskets for Mother’s Day.

Flea Market
In the spring, usually in May or June we hold our annual flea market, which continues to grow yearly. We have a large selection of previously used goods for sale from the smallest trinket to larger furniture. Some of our youth hold a cookie and drink sale with the proceeds going to Camp Kidston. This year we added some homemade baked goods that were well received. In the years to come we hope to expand our flea market to more of a spring fair concept.

Church Plates
For those interested in collecting church plates, Trinity has its own plates for sale. The plates were bought in 1968 as a fundraiser to help the Building Fund. If you would like to order one of our church plates, please contact us by mail or email. The cost is $5.00 if the plate is picked up. If the plate is mailed it is $10.00 (including shipping/handling) within Nova Scotia and $15.00 if it’s within Canada.
Call 876-7617 to order.

All of our fundraisers are very important to our church and we do everything possible to provide a healthy and safe environment in which to work, worship and share with the public. Food safety is at the forefront of our suppers and bake sales.

Sunday School

Our Sunday School, with classes available for ages three to sixteen, runs from mid-September until mid-June during the church service. The children attend church for about 15 minutes then go downstairs for classes following the children's story.

A supervised nursery is available upstairs for children under three as well. There is a sound system hook-up so the supervisor can still hear the church service while attending to the children.

A Sunday School kick-off in September is the annual Sunday School registration and ice cream social following the church service. Watch for the date.

The Sunday School is a growing vibrant entity and having an environment conducive to learning is vital. Providing individual rooms for classroom instruction was one important reason we went ahead with the current expansion.

A couple special events for the Sunday School are the Christmas variety concert and the end-of-year Sunday School picnic alternating each year between a home in the Trinity area and a home in the Goodwood area.

U.C.W.
The U.C.W. (United Church Women) are a very active organization within our church. We are always there to lend a helping hand wherever needed and always looking out for others. We are a diverse group with various interests and talents. We do fundraising activities that help others as well as the church.

At 7:30 pm, on the third Wednesday of each month from September to June, our enthusiastic group of United Church Women (UCW) meet at the church. It is a very relaxed evening for which little, if any, prepartion is required by all who attend. We have a short meeting followed by a program and snack. All women of the church are welcome to attend any meeting.

United Church of Canada is held and administered by the Board of Trustees.
This function involves those matters related to investments, capital
indebtedness, major renovation or capital improvements, and property
acquisition. It is distinct from day-to-day church management functions.
The activities of the Trustees are restricted and governed by Canadian
Law. The United Church's Trusts of Model Deed sets out the trusts upon

Outreach Committee

It's important to Trinity to help others in need. The first Sunday of each month is Food Bank Sunday where we ask people to bring in non-perishable food that is distributed to the women's shelters in our area. An account has been set up at the Timberlea Bottle exchange whereby the public is encouraged to donate their monies from recyclables. These funds are distributed to the Marguerite Centre and Adsum Centre, our local women's shelters.

The White Gift and Mitten Tree Service in early December is very popular with members of the congregation. All items are donated to agencies seeking help, such as Brunswick Street United, Phoenix House, Adsum Centre, etc. Another highlight for the month of December, is the lighting of the outdoor community Christmas tree, sometimes with a combo from the Salvation Army Band leading in the carol sing followed by hot chocolate and cookies in the church basement. This event is open to the public and we encourage all members of the BLT area to attend.

We also have front license plates available for sale - "United We Stand" for $15.00 plus shipping and handling (if necessary).
